The short version: nothing is loaded until you say yes, and we set no advertising cookies, no social media cookies and nothing that follows you to other websites.
We ask first
When you first arrive, a banner asks whether we may use analytics. Nothing non-essential runs before you answer — the analytics script is not loaded at all until you accept, so declining is not a matter of switching something off after the event. Accepting and rejecting are offered as equally easy choices, and there is nothing pre-ticked.
You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page. That clears your choice and asks again, and stops the analytics immediately.
What we use if you accept
We measure how the site is used with Plausible Analytics. It counts page views and where visitors arrived from, without cookies and without storing anything on your device. It does not build a profile of you, does not track you across other websites, and the data it collects cannot be used to identify you.
Your choice itself is remembered in your browser’s local storage, under cookie-consent, so we do not ask on every page. That is the only thing we store on your device as a result of the banner, and clearing your browser data removes it.
What we do not use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No social media pixels or share-button trackers.
- No third-party form or chat widgets.
- No cross-site tracking of any kind.
Storage that is strictly necessary
Cloudflare Turnstile, which protects our forms from automated abuse, may set a short-lived token while you complete a form. It exists only to confirm that a submission came from a person rather than a script, and it is not used to identify or track you. This is exempt from the consent requirement because the forms would not work safely without it.
Controlling cookies yourself
Every browser lets you block or delete cookies through its settings, and aboutcookies.org.uk explains how for each of the common ones. Blocking cookies will not stop this site working.
